...that I have no idea who won the NASCAR Championship (or is that tomorrow?)
How’s that chase working out for you Mr. France?

It's tomorrow. Wish Jalopnik or someone on oppo or black flag would do some kind of preview for it. I really don't understand the chase system (granted, I'm a very causal fan of the sport).

First the chase was expanded to 16 drivers. Then the took the final 10 races and broke them into 3 sets of 4 with 1 final race at the end. In the 3 sets of 4 the bottom four drivers at the end of each are eliminated. During these if you win you are automatically in the next round. Going into the final race there are 4 drivers left, they are put on an even playing field and the one with the best finish wins the cup.

Yeah, that’s tomorrow. Only the Trucks championship was determined so far, and the Xfinity championship will be completed tonight.

It’s tomorrow and say what you want but the chase is infinitely better than the championship being decided a month before the end of the season

is that why attendance/ratings are so low?

Im just speaking from a personal standpoint. Before the chase the last 4 or 5 races were utterly pointless. It was like F1 where there was absolutely no point to run the races once the champion had been crowned. I love the new chase format. It gives the whole season a purpose rather than the first 30 races or so. The way I see it the NFL wouldn’t play the super bowl and decide a champion before the wild card games

now the first 26 races are utterly pointless.

Not at all. You still need wins and strong finishes to get into the chase
